Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book?

You can either send me a message via the Contact page (see top menu) or drop me an email. We can then arrange a good date and time for your session. All I ask in advance please is a non-refundable deposit to secure your booking, although the date of your session may be re-arranged if you require.

What happens with my images after my session?

I will process and perfect your images within 2 weeks (although this may be extended slightly during school holidays). I will then email you a link to your viewing and ordering gallery. From your gallery you can select any products you would like to order. I will post a few sneak peeks on Facebook and Instagram during these two weeks, although if you'd prefer me not to that's absolutely fine, please just let me know. Your gallery will contain a mix of colour and black and white images.

Can I have all my images as digital files to print as I wish?

Yes absolutely, this is the most popular option and all of your images will be uploaded in full resolution to your downloadable gallery with a print release form (I do retain the copyright). Please remember to back up your images once you've received them!

How can I pay for my session and products?

To secure your booking an invoice will be emailed to you which can be paid online by credit/debit card.  Products can be ordered and paid for directly from your viewing gallery.

What happens if the weather is bad or myself or a member of my family is ill on the day of my session?

I'm more than happy to reschedule portrait sessions due to to the above reasons. These things cannot be avoided and I want you to have the best experience from your session! If for some reason the date is no longer suitable please let me know at least 24 hours in advance.

What should we wear during our portrait session - should we all dress similarly or smartly?

I want you to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible - the most important thing is that you all feel happy so the choice of wardrobe is entirely yours. I want your photos to reflect your real life so just be yourselves! The only advice I would give is to avoid large logos if possible and bold patterns as these can take be distracting in the images. I do have a Pinterest page I can send you the link to for inspiration.

I'm not sure my home life is interesting enough to photograph, should we go somewhere outdoors and pretty instead?

You may not see it now but one day you'll look back on your images and see the happy memories you shared daily. I really feel these photos are so important and pretty places are lovely but make sure the location really means something to you. I aim to capture the moments between you rather than too much of the surroundings so the environment you're in needs to make you feel happy and relaxed. If you're worried your house is untidy or small rest assured it's probably not as bad as you think and I promise it won't come across in your photos. Trust me on this one!

Do you accept returns?

Unfortunately due to the custom nature of each product I'm unable to accept returns. All orders, once downloaded and paid for are final and cannot be changed.

How do you store/use my details and images (privacy policy)?

Your details will never be passed to any third party. All images remain copyright of Rose and Spear Photography and will only be used on my website, social media and marketing products having first gained your consent through a signed contract.
